GAS FREE INSPECTIONS AND ISSUANCE OF MARINE CHEMIST CERTIFICATES
Marine Chemist Certificates document the date and time of survey, tests results and limits of detection, spaces surveyed, safety designations, and instructions for performing all work safely. Standard safety designations are “ATMOSPHERE SAFE FOR WORKERS”, “NOT SAFE FOR WORKERS”, “ENTER WITH RESTRICTIONS”, “SAFE FOR HOT WORK”, “NOT SAFE FOR HOT WORK”, “SAFE FOR LIMITED HOT WORK”, “SAFE FOR SHIPBREAKING”, “INERTED”, “INERTED FOR FLAMMABLE COMPRESSED GAS”, and “SAFE FOR LAY-UP”. Inspections and Certificates are performed and written in accordance with NFPA® 306, Standard for the Control of Gas Hazards on Vessels.
INERTIONS
Inertion can be performed in a tank or hollow structure by filling the area with inert gas so as to prevent the ignition of flammable gas(es) or combustible material(s) during hot work. This process is sometimes the most efficient method of attaining a SAFE FOR HOT WORK designation as it can be less time consuming, less expensive, and easier than cleaning or filling the affected areas with water.
CONFINED SPACE, COMPETENT PERSON, OR OTHER TRAINING
Training regimens can be tailored to meet the needs of any customer. Though most of our programs have been prepared for and presented to shipyard personnel, we have also addressed those working in firefighting and other emergency medical services, small boatyard, marine and industrial tank cleaning, repair, and maintenance, marine and industrial blasting and coating, and several other industries. Call us for a consultation to discuss the preparation of a training regimen specific to your field and needs and we will be happy to assist in any way possible.
CONSULTATIONS

We encourage you to give us a call if you are ever in a bind or need a little advice or reassurance in ensuring your project goes smoothly and safely as planned.
